Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un estado de la cuestión sobre la Educación Intercultural Bilingüe (EIB) en Argentina. Para ello, en un principio, se contextualizan históricamente las políticas educativas para diversidad étnica y lingüística. Luego, se define a la EIB considerando cinco rasgos centrales que la caracterizan actualmente: política compensatoria en el contexto neoliberal, descentralización y regionalización educativa, modalidad del sistema educativo, metas lingüística y debates sobre la capacitación docente. Por último, en las conclusiones, se exponen los desafíos, deudas pendientes y perspectivas a futuro de esta política educativa. Este análisis se efectúa en base a los postulados afirmados en la legislación nacional, bibliografía pertinente y experiencias personales de investigación en el campo de la antropología educativa y lingüística.
