Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of women infected by the protozoan Trichomonas vaginalis at the Integrated Clinic Ana Lúcia Chaves Fecury located in São Luís, capital of Maranhão. Methodology: this is a study with a quantitative approach, descriptive and retrospective. The study analyzed the reports of cytopathological tests performed at the Integrated Clinic Ana Lúcia Chaves Fecury. Results: 1097 medical records of women between 16 and 78 years of age who underwent their cytopathological tests between 2019 and 2021 were analyzed. Of the analyzed reports, 4 were identified for the pathogenic microorganism Trichomonas vaginalis (0.36%). It was observed that the age group with the highest incidence of trichomoniasis is between 30 and 49 years, with a percentage of 75%. Of the positive medical records analyzed, in 100% of the cases Coccus was identified as an associated infection. Conclusion: it is necessary to pay more balanced attention to the periodic practice of carrying out the Pap smear to screen for possible infections and injuries, in addition to encouraging already infected women aiming at effective treatment for the infection.
