Abstract

Aim: to know the beliefs that influence adherence to post-accident monitoring protocol and present the differences and beliefs among health workers and human resource managers. Method: Qualitative and exploratory study in which 23 participants were interviewed from October 20th, 2010 to June 2nd, 2011. In data analysis, thematic analysis based on Belief Model Health was used. Results: It was evident the need to intensify incentives for accident prevention in health institutions, considering that the role of human resource managers is relevant in order to have an institutional policy, and nurses must take responsibility for the conduction of injured workers and also training for the adoption of preventive measures. Conclusion: It is reiterated the need for institutional measures aimed at the improvement of the organization of the process and working conditions, in order to reduce the number of accidents
