The present study attempts to perform an analysis on the term biodiversity through anenvironmental education perspective, concerning an interdisciplinary awareness, as well as atransformer sense. The approach taken during the study aimed to discuss the social role that thisterm has taken nowadays, whereas most o f the times its use has taken other roles rather than thereal one. It is concluded that the environmental education is a fundamental tool to develop anenvironmental consciousness, highlighting the direct relation among the proposed challenge, themodern society and the biodiversity conservation.
