This descriptive memorial aims to report my professional trajectory, starting with the Nursing Degree at the Federal University of Santa Maria, passing through postgraduate courses, totaling 27 years of career. During this period, I worked in several management positions and on the board of the Brazilian Society of Pediatric Nurses. The orientation activities resulted in a qualified bibliographical production that culminated in being a CNPq researcher senior and by getting research grants. Tributes and awards made this path rewarding. Teaching and caring, working with children and their families has always been something I wanted, and a childhood dream come true. Hoping to continue to contribute to the development of science, to improve the quality of life and well-being of the population, and to train committed and qualified professionals, I conclude this memorial.
