Democratic management: a process in construction

This article addresses the process of building a democratic, currently in evidence in a school in São Luiz Gonzaga, Brazil. The objective is to analyze the possibilities and difficulties of implementation of democratic management in the private chool from the Law of National Education Guidelines and Bases of 1996 and the Federal Constitution of 1988. It is believed that education is a social process where all school managers should participate and collaborate, since the creation of Project Political seeking quality education grounded in the principle of democratization. The methodology we used the documentary and bibliographic research. The study presents a critique of the management model that says democratic, but no room for the participation of school staff. In this process, the manager stands out as administrator and responsible for maintaining the traditional paradigm of conservative management of the school.
