Abstract

A survey of 145 active journals that publish in the area of Psychology and are indexed in the databases PePSIC and SciELO was carried out. Through an online consultation, information about the following items were collected from each journal: writing style and types of papers. Writing style was analyzed through descriptive statistics, while thematic analysis was used to examine the types of papers. In the end, nineteen types of papers that are accepted for publication were identified in the surveyed scientific journals, plus one last category, “others”, which covers different genres with low frequency. The results provide authors with an overview about some important parameters of scientific publications in the field of Psychology.
