Abstract

The following article has as main objective the understanding of the development of writings that cover the periods from the beginning of the Roman Empire to the end of the Middle Ages. In addition, there is also the establishment of relationships between such consecrated letters and the digital sources that were used in three video game series, namely: Dante's Inferno, Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, and the presentation of a timeline which contains the writings present here, as well as the historical facts that surround them. Thus, so that this research could be elaborated, several bibliographic references were consulted, in order to verify the contexts of creation, the purposes and the situations of use of these writings, so that, in the course of such explanations, there was an association with the typographies of these game franchises. Thus, in the end, there is a perception of the importance of these letters for the current calligraphy and typography, and how they have been perpetuated over the years, to be used in different areas, in addition to transmitting the atmosphere of these games as much as a graphic image.
