Abstract

This research analyzes the relationship between vegetation interception and internal precipitation in Caatinga area, in the county of Coreaú, State of Ceara. The research was based on the selection of two areas of 100sq meters, with strata and different stages of regeneration of the vegetation layer, where fifteen rain gauges made of plastic bottles were installed in each area. It was found that the greater the external rainfall is, the smaller the plant interception in both environments becomes. Besides, there was an interception in bush plot in relation to bush-tree, reaching a ratio of 4:1. Key-words: Bush Caatinga. Bush-tree Caatinga; Vegetation interception; Internal precipitation.
