Erosive processes have caused strong soil degradation worldwide, posing a risk to the population by destroying houses and public equipment and causing social, economic and environmental damage. The basin of Do Meio River in Pinhais, PR, was the object of analysis by Valim (2003) who produced a laminar erosion susceptibility map outlining existing erosion processes. The present research has the objective of analyzing erosive processes of that basin. This required applying the adapted methodology of Iwasa and Fendrich (1998), which consists of an erosion registration form. This methodology allowed the registration of two erosion features identified in the basin, associated to a road cut. The utilization of the erosion registration form is important because it allows for a better understanding of aspects relative to its genesis and behavior, especially with regards to the process dynamics which is fundamental to the definition of more consistent criteria for erosion control projects.Downloads
