A reflexion upon the existent relation between researches and publications about deafblindness in Brazil

Abstract

In a context where Deafblindness is a modality of Special Education under development of knowledge and establishment of services for people with this kind of impairment which started almost half a century ago. Researches and Publications have been noticed as incipient, reason for the realization of a study of the researches done in Doctoral Dissertations and Masters Thesis and the Publications in Scientific Newsletters about the topic in Brazil to establish the existent relation among them and come to conclusions with the intention to contribute for the development of the modality. The procedures were: 1) a search in the Data Bank of Thesis and Dissertations of CNPq. 2) a search in the Data Bank of Brazilian Scientific Newsletters for publications about deafblindness. The data was organized into tables and the analysis was done by registering the frequency of them in each established category, comparing the data of the researches and the publications to find relationship between them and with the theoretical e methodological references. The discussion resulted in that the researches are still mainly descriptive and did not result into publications of articles in most cases, but four out of the seven articles published were based in the researches.
