Abstract

From cactus boy to Garoto-cacto. From profession of cactus grower to the cultivation of a poetic identity. From thorn of the cactus to pigmented and artificialized thorn on the skin of the performer. From intimate and subjectivity of the individual artist. From pain and its inherent bond to the body. This visual essay raises these relationships that run through my research in visual poetics. The title of this photo essay “A little pain, a poetic identity”, in turn, proposes to think about such connections, that may or may not be potentiated by the sensation of pain and are gradually unveiled through the creation process
