The work, of a theoretical nature, suggests that social media platforms such as Instagram maximize the reflexivity of subjects in their self-presentations. From this, we suggest that the subjects' agency and power of choice, combined with constant changes in the ecology of the platform, allow us to reflect on new ways of thinking about identity constructions, notions of intimacy and dynamics of (in)visibility in these spaces, in a constant management of impressions. This inflects us to reflect on alternatives for these self-presentations, whether based on material dimensions (such as functionalities provided by the platform, such as close friends), or cultural (subjects subverting spaces through non-consensual uses, in the case of Finstagrams).
