Abstract

The present work presents the results of a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the concept of media convergence. We analyze how media convergence has been researched and defined by the academic-scientific community within the boundaries of communication over the past six years (2016-2021). For this, two indexing databases were used: Web of Science and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Through the development of a codebook, 22 works were selected based on double coding and subjected to a reliability test. We discuss the implications of these results for future research, highlighting the gains that the procedures carried out in this work offer to guide other research on the concept of media convergence in the present day.
