The present article assembles theories about magazine and editorial design by Fátima Ali (2009), Marília Scalzo (2004) and Yolanda Zappaterra (2014) along with the methodological approach by Martine Joly of image analysis, to investigate the representation of woman on the covers of man’s magazine, GQ Brazil, diachronically with their editorial line. The significant visual structures are related to sociocultural transformations about the perception of women in society, through studies from Judith Butler (1999) and Gilles Lipovetisky (1997), in association with the emergence of feminist debates in brazilian’s society. As a result of our analysis is noticeable some changes in the editorial position of the magazine, which indicate the need of a continuous search for a whorthier representation for gender equality and a need for review of the magazine target audience.
