This is a reception study regarding two pieces of news broadcasted in the news portals G1 and R7 about the English rock group Iron Maiden. Having a critical, historical and dialectical approach, this research adopts as theoretician-methodological approach based on the presuppositions of Guillermo Orozco Gómez (2000; 2003), Stuart Hall (2003), Douglas Kellner (2001), Roland Barthes (1963) and John Thompson (1995). The body of work encloses the band’s visit to Brazil in march, 2016, to give some concerts to promote its newest cd, The book of souls, released in September, 2015.
