Literature and critical discourse: Sergio Sant'anna in debate

Abstract

From the interest in the study of literary works produced in authoritarian contexts and from the need to deepen the reflections underlying them, this work is born, which starts from a reading of the work Confissões de Ralfo – uma autobiografia imaginária, discussing the narrative fragmentation and the social perspective of the text by Sérgio Sant'Anna, and examines paths of critical discourse regarding the novelistic fiction of the 1970s, in which the author's work is inserted. Taking Sant'Anna's text as a point of reference, whose construction evidences an intense work with language, in order to give the narrative multiple meanings and show the combination of varied aesthetic procedures, some affirmations of critical studies are discussed, especially those that they look for formulas for the interpretation of the works and those that invest in the production of the period a judgment of pejorative value.
