Abstract

This paper intends to present, based on the philosophy of Günther Anders, the change in our metaphysical status with the advent of the Anthropocene, which blurred the contours that distinguished natural history and human history, due to climate change. We have become beings of a new genre, but also apocalyptic of a new genre, namely, prophylactic apocalyptist. The apocalyptic axis is no longer that of the bomb, but rather that of global warming. The idea of progress – which in the 20th century lost its emancipatory dimension – made technical development an accomplice to the catastrophe, to the extent that progress offers a distorted understanding of history and time. It would be necessary to re-educate our moral imagination to delay the end of the world.

Alisson Ramos de Souza, Universidade Federal de São Carlos

Possui graduação em Música pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2012) e Mestrado em Filosofia pelo programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia da Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2016). Publicou pela Editora FI o livro "Deleuze e o corpo: por uma crítica da consciência" (2017). Atualmente é doutorando em Filosofia na Universidade Federal de São Carlos. Áreas de interesse: filosofia da diferença, fenomenologia e dialética
