Development and evaluation of educational material on complementary food approaches

Abstract

Objective: Develop and evaluate an educational material on complementary feeding approaches. Methods: A propositional study with a quantitative and qualitative design, carried out from November 2021 to July 2022, in three stages: 1 - review of the scientific literature; 2 - elaboration of the material; 3 - development of the material based on the degree of agreement of reviewers and the public with a Likert scale, analyzed with the Content Validity Index. Results: Based on the evaluation of the reviewers, the educational material was improved and forwarded for public evaluation. The educational material was evaluated with a Global Content Validity Index of 0.88 (±0.19) by the reviewers, 0.96 (±0.03) by the public, and 0.94 (±0.04) by the full sample. Final Considerations: The educational material achieved a Content Validity Index above the recommended acceptable parameters, in all evaluator groups, especially with regard to the pertinence and organization of information.
