The aim of this study is to describe the prevalence of overweight and obesity in Brazil in 2006 and 2016, according to gender and education and to verify if education is still a protective factor for women, and if among men, the paradox education / obesity still remains. This study used the information from the survey “Surveillance of Risk Factors and Protection for Chronic Diseases by Telephone Survey” (VIGITEL) from 2006 and 2016.
