Children’s photography, memory and affection: photographic accompaniments in babies’ first year

Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the relationship between children's photography and the creation of affective memories. Photography in general has undergone many transformations over the years. However, its importance in creating and preserving memories remains undeniable. This research includes a brief account of the history of photography, its transformations over time and the importance of recording the first year of a child’s life. The guiding question for carrying out this research is: how important is photographic monitoring in the baby’s first year of life for people’s article affective memory? This article is divided into three topics, the first topic is an introduction to the topic, the second addresses the characteristics of children’s photography, and affection, especially in the period to which the reflection proposed here focuses. The theoretical framework of this article is based on a bibliographical research on studies by theorists who directly associate photography with the creation of affective memories, including: Bosi (1994); Kossoy (1989); Leite (1998); Geddes (2020); Sontag (2004 and 2010); Le Goff (1990). In this sense, it was about supporting and reaffirming the importance of child photography.
