PROPOSTA DE PREVENÇÃO DA AMEBÍASE: A EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL COMO FERRAMENTA DE APOIO À PARASITOLOGIA

The proposal is for the purpose of suggesting activities related to environmental educationand health education in public school, to contribute to the prevention of amebiasis, a disease thataffects humans, caused by protozoa of the genus Entamoeba histolytica. Transmission occurs fromperson to person by food or water contaminated by the cysts of the parasite. The initial action is inthe intestine causing dysentery, amoebic colitis and enterocolitis, may expand to other organs andtissues through the blood stream causing inflammation and necrosis. Amebiasis has worldwidegeographic distribution, occurring mainly in developing countries with tropical and subtropicalclimate, where sanitation is inadequate and water supply is precarious. This aims to show that theschool is a place conducive to the holistic development in Environmental Education and HealthEducation, his work is important to involve students, faculty and staff, so that this situation ismodified from the acquisition of new habits.
