Good practices in project management: a study in the municipality of Praia Grande

Project management in the public sector has assumed new content, aimed at transforming the management practices in intelligence model for implementation of strategies, from which emerged the interest in expanding the studies at the municipal level. The goal was to identify the project management practices, according to the standard of good practice PMBoK. The methodological procedures involves an exploratory stage with data collection with municipal secretaries, which contributed to the expansion of knowledge about management practices and hence for structuring the questionnaire later answered by self-administered for 60 managers. Data analysis used the basic statistical analysis, enough to reach the goal, the result revealed that the management scope, integration and acquisitions are on the upper level of adherence to best practices, as cost, quality, schedule and communications level and lower risks and human resources for more critical level.
