This article aims to present the utility of data geoprocessing on the elaboration of networks thematic maps that represents the spatial dimensions of freight transportation. For so, it is utilized the solid geo-referenced database of the National Plan of Logistics and Transportation from the Ministry of Transportation, which, worked by geoprocessing techniques, in a GIS environment, allowed the creation of freight transportation maps that approaches the railway mode representative and the highway mode illustrative of this spatial setting chosen, which is the “Triângulo Mineiro e Alto do Paranaíba” Mesoregion. In this way, it is established a methodology to assist the many studies that work and discuss the freight transportation, as well your variants, being possible your application to the whole national territory.Downloads
