Abstract

A system of bidirectional optical telephony is made of two telephonic terminals interconnected by eletro-optical conversion - GaAs lasers and phototransitors, through a simple multimode optical fiber. The simultaneous bidirectional transmission is possible with the utilization of optical coupling. In this paper the components of this system are presented and their functions analysed in detail.
