This paper aims to identify the influence of rain rate on the corn crop yield in the Chapecó micro region between 1999 and 2011. To accomplish this, two crops were identified: 2005 with higher and 2011 with lower crop yield. These crops were analyzed and the daily rain rate compared from October 1, 2003 to January 20, 2004 and in the same months between 2009 and 2010, as this is the main period for corn planting and harvesting in Santa Catarina. It was possible to identify a greater impact of the rain rate on crop yield in 2005 as compared to 2011.
