In this text, specifically, we undertake a critical cultural analysis of the media, anchored in gender studies, and focus on the antagonist of A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones, Cersei, in order to understand the meanings established as permitted and prohibited for the feminine. Through four images that constitute the character (the villain, the whore, the mother, and the martyr), which are then revealed, we observe the workings of patriarchal mechanisms and the ways in which, in books and on screen, we are taught about the possibilities and impossibilities of women's existence in a masculine world, present both in the fictional saga and beyond.
