This edition of the electronic journal Literatura e Autoritarismo, aiming to provide opportunities for broad academic debate, presents literary studies dedicated to works that contain the tension between remembering and forgetting the political repression practiced in Brazil during the military regime, as well as in other countries. The subtitle Memories of repression points to the need to remember the past and to reflect, also through literature, on political violence and its consequences in the lives of people who were exposed to it.
