Aim: to describe and discuss the perception of postpartum women about the health care team in a Natural Birth Center (NBC). Methods: descriptive study with a qualitative approach, developed with 18 puerperal women hospitalized in a public state hospital in Teresina-PI. Data collected through interviews with semi-structured script, from April to May 2014. Data was submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: two categories emerged: mothers’ knowledge about the NBC and mothers' perception of the care offered by the health team in the NBC. Conclusions: the study will contribute to health professionals’ knowledge on the subject, particularly for male nurses, on the need and importance of carrying out guidance to women concerning normal childbirth and on the existence and functioning of the NBC, as well as the construction of new proposals involving health staff and public health institutionDownloads
