Abstract

La conferencia titulada “Derecho Natural” (1946) nos llegó en un manuscrito mecanografiado de 34 páginas que es quizás el texto más cercano tanto en contenido como cronológicamente a las Conferencias Walgreen de 1949. El texto de las conferencias acabó por incorporar una parte importante de este mismo manuscrito, con pequeñas modificaciones, en la introducción y análisis de la transformación moderna de derechos en deberes. Este texto precursor ilumina el argumento central de Natural Bien y Historia en su conjunto. La conferencia está dedicada a la historia del derecho natural, pero el núcleo de la presentación es la transformación de la antigua idea de justicia natural en la moderna doctrina de los derechos humanos, que tuvo un alto precio y terminó siendo cuestionada. con la crisis jurídica moderna. Esta crisis, sin embargo, abrió la posibilidad de recuperar el problema del derecho natural tal como lo entendían originalmente los antiguos.
