Travessias transatlânticas: o continuum colonial das políticas migratórias dos EUA e a imigração africana (1989-2021)

Este artigo investiga os padrões de fluxos migratórios de cidadãos africanos para os Estados Unidos da América entre o fim da Guerra Fria e o primeiro mandato de Donald Trump (1989-2021), analisando as dinâmicas raciais e a evolução das políticas migratórias americanas. A pesquisa examina como o legado histórico do tráfico transatlântico de escravizados moldou as relações entre os dois continentes e continua a impactar as políticas migratórias e o tratamento dos imigrantes africanos nos EUA. Utilizando abordagens pós-coloniais e a Teoria Crítica da Raça, o trabalho busca compreender as transformações ideológicas e políticas desse período e as barreiras impostas a esses migrantes, oferecendo uma perspectiva crítica sobre políticas migratórias e questões raciais enfrentadas pelos imigrantes africanos nos Estados Unidos.
