This article aims to investigate how social representation of princess archetype is resignified in the live-action “Beauty and the Beast” (2017) by the appropriation of aspects of feminist theories. This study is justified by the reconstruction of the trajectory of female characters in productions of this type by Disney, especially as the remodeling of social representation, given by the breaking of the female stereotype of original tales, and also due to the great repercussion that live-actions have on the market. We used original tales, identifying aspects of rupture of the male patriarchy, according to the narrative presented, performing a comparative analysis between scenes from the live-action film and the animated film. It is concluded that the princess archetype is reframed in the live-action through the appropriation of concepts related to feminist theories.Downloads
