Abstract

This article demonstrates the concept of precarious labour of Standing (2014) and scales this concept among brazilian journalists. Journalist is a professional who should provide quality information for people to be free and autogovernem (KOVACH; ROSENSTIEL, 2003). The text indicates that precarious labour has worsened in the last decade, with digital technologies. They reconfigured the market and reordered the business model of companies in the sector. The manuscript also suggests that precarious labour impacts on the quality of information that journalists produce and disseminate, and this has repercussions on the entire society.
