Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the causes of waste in the process, storage and preservation of grains in a cooperative store in the Ponta Grossa city, Paraná. The which exposes issues about agribusiness, basic notions of cooperative, involving the whole process of grain storage and its quality during the same. For a greater understanding and enrichment of this search, we addressed issues such as classification, discharge in “Tombador” and discharge hoppers, cleaning of grain in cleaning machines, as it is with them that the grain receiving the first aids for standardization, types of dryers, because there are various models, the wood being the main source of energy and still some problems with moisture migration and difficulties encountered during the process and storage. It was aim ed through the application of questionnaires, to investigate how employees of this cooperative perceive the importance of preserve the quality in process and storage, to avoid failures during the process and avoid quantitative and qualitative losses of grain. Therefore, this work has a general aim to demonstrate the importance of quality in process and storage of grain. This study is based on research technique, classifying it as basic, qualitative, exploratory, technical procedures as the literature review and case study. With the obtained results it was proved that most employees already know that if there is not a good monitoring the process and storage there will be a waste generating prejudice, but also it was proved that there are still someone that need to be aware that just when everyone do the correct way there will be a good result at the end.
