Desenvolvimento urbano sustentável: o caso da cidade de Mocuba

ABSTRACT To approach the sustainability of the cities in developing countries, mainly of those located in Africa, with particular reference to Mozambique; it means to give more attention to the problem raised for the “Brown Calendar” or “Sanitary Calendar”, because these are the main problems that affect the life quality of most of the city dwellers. These problems are efficiently linked to the incapacity of the municipal governments to provide basic urban services efficient and including, consequently taking to a deterioration of the urban life. Based on a survey made to residents of the city of Mocuba (Africa), article discusses the provision of the basic urban services to the level of their space scope and the consequence in the life quality.Downloads
