O presente texto almeja discutir as políticas patrimoniais no Brasil, tendo como exemplos o estudo de caso do Litoral Norte do Estado de São Paulo. A proposta é compreender o patrimônio como espaço de poder e, neste sentido, apreender quais as categorias patrimoniais tem sido usadas para representar as relações entre os seres humanos e a natureza e suas consequências.
