Luto paterno perinatal: sofrimento legítimo em um contexto de invisibilidade social

O luto perinatal paterno permanece um fenômeno invisibilizado, frequentemente silenciado pelas normas de gênero que atribuem aos homens o papel de apoio e contenção emocional. Este estudo teve como objetivo revisar a literatura nacional e internacional acerca das vivências masculinas diante da morte perinatal, compreendendo suas manifestações emocionais, sociais e culturais, bem como as estratégias de enfrentamento empregadas. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa realizada em sete bases de dados internacionais e latino-americanas, contemplando publicações entre 2000 e 2025. Nove estudos atenderam aos critérios de inclusão, conduzidos em diferentes países e com predominância de delineamentos qualitativos. A análise temática dos achados permitiu identificar três eixos centrais: a vivência emocional e subjetiva do luto, marcada por sentimentos intensos de tristeza, impotência e culpa; a invisibilidade e deslegitimação social, em que os homens foram reconhecidos sobretudo como acompanhantes das mães, e não como sujeitos enlutados; e as estratégias de enfrentamento e busca de sentido, que incluíram silêncio, isolamento, retorno precoce ao trabalho, religiosidade e manutenção de vínculos simbólicos com o bebê. Os resultados evidenciam que o sofrimento paterno é condicionado por expectativas socioculturais que limitam sua expressão e acesso a cuidados adequados. Conclui-se que há necessidade de ampliar a produção científica sobre o tema, especialmente no Brasil, bem como de desenvolver políticas públicas e protocolos clínicos que reconheçam os homens como protagonistas legítimos no processo de luto perinatal, favorecendo a validação social da experiência e a promoção de práticas de cuidado inclusivas.
