Entrepreneurship in the creative industries: a bibliometric study

Abstract

The aim of this study is to discuss the scientific production scenario related to the theme entrepreneurship in the creative industry sector through a bibliometric study, using co-citation network. The sample was based on the ISI Web of Knowledge platform (Web of Science), totaling 131 selected articles. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that entrepreneurship in the creative industry sector is a subject still few explored, but there is a significant increase in publications in the last five years. Looking at the co-citation network, it was possible to map the intellectual structure of entrepreneurship in the creative industry sector and the development in research and publications as well.

Author Biographies

Paula Sanches Santana, Universidade Nove de Julho

Has a Master's degree in Business Administration by Universidade Nove de Julho in São Paulo and IT bachelor degree by Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. She has more than 16 years of experience in the field of information technology, working in critical mission environment with high level of stress. Paula currently lives in São Paulo, where she has a small business for personal development and dedicates her studies to human behavior and mindfullness.

Franciane Freitas Silveira, Universidade Federal do ABC, São Bernardo do Campo, SP

PhD, is Adjunct Professor of Business Management in the Center for Engineering, Modeling and Applied Social Sciences (CECS) and professor of the Graduate Programs in engineering and innovation management at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) in São Paulo, Brazil. Professor Silveira holds masters and PhD degrees in Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics, Business and Accountancy (FEA) at the University of São Paulo (USP), with emphasis on Technology Innovation. Dr. Silveira worked as an Innovation Project Manager for 8 years mainly in the Telecommunications Industry. Mrs. Silveira is an author, consultant and professor in the fields of technology management and Social and Sustainable Innovation management.
