Two Savonius prototypes, two blades and the same aspect ratio, were constructed from vinyl polychloride and use different air flow. Experimental tests allowed the rotation speed of each rotor to be determined for different air flows. It is important to note that the average angular velocity of the smaller rotor is approximately fifty percent higher than the larger rotor. At the same time, the absorption torque on the rotor shaft was measured and the mechanical power of each Savonius wind turbine prototype was estimated. The main result was that wind turbines of the same aspect ratio have different performances.</p> ER -
