Abstract

The estimative of regional evapotranspiration (ET) by means ofremote sensing require the conversion of instantaneous values into dailytotals under the assumption that the evaporative fraction (EF) does notvary during daytime. However, there are few works that evaluate theconditions under which this quantity is conserved. In this work the RAMS(Regional Atmospheric System) model version 6.0 is employed tosimulate the spatial and temporal distribution of the evaporative fractionover irrigated vegetation in the São Francisco River valley. The resultsshow that temperature and moisture advection by the wind, vegetationtype and soil moisture are key factors in the quantification of EF variability.
